Zenith Introduces Defy Extreme Glacier at LVMH Watch Week

Following the Defy Extreme Desert launched in 2021, Zenith is traveling to the opposite kind of landscape for its second edition, the Defy Extreme Glacier. Parts of the 45-mm and 20 bar pressure resistant titanium case, such as the pusher guards and the dodecagonal bezel, are crafted from chalcedony. This crystalline semi-translucent stone has a pale blue hue that evokes the frozen glaciers. Meticulously cut and polished by hand, each stone is different and produces slightly different colors and fibrous structures.

As is de rigueur for the Defy watch family, the open dial reveals the inner workings of the El Primero 1/100th of a second automatic high-frequency chronograph caliber and its two regulating organs, which beat at 50Hz for the chronograph and 5Hz for the timekeeping. In line with the Arctic theme, the chronograph counters are made from transparent sapphire crystal that’s given a frosted finish.

The Defy Extreme Glacier is limited to 50 pieces and available exclusively at Zenith boutiques and online. Pricing is marked at $26,100.
